Meltdown
ACTION-PACKED ONE-HIT WONDER
1
History
Minecraft's hottest location used to be the beach, but since it got updated, The Nether holds the crown. We're taking our hottest game there for a tour through all new, nether-biome inspired rooms, culminating in a final showdown in a bastion.
How to play
2
The Basics
To win Meltdown, you'll need to collect coin crates. These are big piles of coins just waiting to be collected by a team. Unfortunately, they're inside a melting labyrinth, and every team is armed with a one-hit freeze bow.
You'll have three rounds, but don't let your team get eliminated, or your chance to collect crates that round will go up in flames.
3
Freezing
Each player has a one-hit freeze bow. If you're frozen, you are stuck in your ice block until a teammate can thaw you out with the use of a heater.
If all your teammates are frozen, and there are no heaters left to free you, it's game over for your team and you'll have to go again next round.
4
Heaters
Heaters can be placed down on the ground next to frozen teammates to free them from the ice, but can also be broken by opponents. If you're thawing a teammate, make sure to keep an eye on the heater you place down!
5
Melting
The entire arena melts, forcing players closer and closer into the centre. You have a handy minimap to guide you through the rooms and make sure you can find your way to the middle. If you get caught in a melting room, you'll hear sirens, letting you know that you need to start running.
6
Coin Crates
Coin crates can be found scattered everywhere around the rooms, but you'll find some rooms have big piles, marked out on the map. The coins in these rooms are gated off, and only open at a certain point, meaning you'll have to keep control of the area if you want to collect them all.
7
Mining
Right clicking the pickaxe slot will give you the pick but take it away from the team member who has it, so only one person can mine at a time. The rest of the team should be on the defensive!
8
Scoring
Coins are awarded from collecting coin crates, placements, and final freezes.
- 10 coins for collecting a crate (shared amongst the team, with 18 crates at each capture point)
- 25 coins for freezing a player, taken away if they thaw out
Teams are given a placement at the end of each round depending on how long their team survived, with the coins being shared amongst the team.
